Valencia stuned Madrid at Bernabeu

Two strikes from David Villa - one from the penalty spot - and a late matchwinner from Javier Arizmendi gave Valencia a morale-boosting win against Real Madrid.

The hosts, for their part, actually had the lead at one point thanks to Raul, but an inability to take chances - coupled with some poor defending - saw them leave the game with nothing at all.

Bojan scored two goals for Barcelona's victory

The Blaugrana youngster showed why he is so highly rated by the club as he netted crucial goals to put the result beyond doubt as the visitors looked to pull themselves back into the game.

Barça went ahead through Samuel Eto'o before Jonathan Sesma levelled from the spot before half-time and the home team were jeered from the field at the break.

Andrés Iniesta then restored his team's advantage before Krkic netted twice, while Valladolid continued to cause problems on the break.

While the Catalan outfit have renewed their push for the title, the visitors slipped into the bottom three, as Recreativo earned a point, and now face a struggle to stay up.

In the opening half though, Valladolid did not create anything of note yet still went in at the break on level terms as Barça were unable to break down their defence.

At the back the home side did not look truly comfortable throughout with Lilian Thuram in particular not having a good game before being replaced by Éric Abidal.

The game was played at a patient pàce as Barcelona employed their passing game, but at times without the necessary incisiveness to really test Sergio Asenjo.

That did not look like that would be the case in the third minute when Bojan rounded the keeper on the edge of the area, but he did not put enough power behind the ball and it was cleared by Javier Baraja long before reaching the goal.

Bojan had another good chance moments later when Xavi clips Iniesta's pass into his path and the youngster is left with only Asenjo to beat from 14 yards, but aimed his shot straight at the custodian.

Henry was then given a glorious chance as Sylvinho picked him out with a cross that he failed to meet properly with his head before Asenjo made two saves in quick succession as Iniesta and Touré Yaya both forced him to palm the ball away.

Moments later, Barça's pressure finally paid off as they took the lead as Bojan waited and waited on the left flank before eventually picking out Eto'o with a fine cross and the Cameroonian striker volleyed home from eight yards out.

With the opener in the bag, Barça looked set to set themselves on cruise control and it would just be a case of how many they would go on to win by.

Instead, they received a shock on the half hour mark when Thuram went up with Joseba Llorente and when the Valladolid tumbled over, the referee pointed to the spot.

Sesma ignored the whistles and slotted his shot into the left corner as Víctor Valdés went the other way and Barça had it all to do once again.

Just before the break, the visitors could have actually take the lead when Vivar Dorado knocked the ball back to Álvaro Rubio and his shot was touched on by Llorente only for Valdés to be in the right place.

After being jeered off at the break, the hosts looked unnerved as they gave up possession almost immediately to allow Sesma to run towards the area before shooting over.

But those nerves were quickly forgotten in minute 47 as Touré's flick was nodded on by Bojan for Iniesta to round Asenjo and roll the ball into the net from close range.

That goal really calmed the hosts down and just after the hour mark they added a third as Xavi's free-kick was knocked down, Puyol had a touch in front of goal before Bojan turned and slotted in from an acute angle.

There were appeals for offside, but it appeared that Marcos knocked the ball on to Bojan, although the Valladolid players evidently did not agree.

Soon after Henry cut the ball back, Xavi's shot came back to Eto'o, who was standing three yards from goal, and he clipped the ball over the bar.

Valladolid had not given up hope and Sesma pounced on a loose ball only to drive it against the near post while at the other end Henry saw another header go wide when it looked easier to score.

Vladimir Mancev made space for himself before hammering the ball against Valdés' crossbar in the 83rd minute and Barça made him pay for that miss as they added their fourth a minute later.

Eto'o rounded Asenjo on the side of the area before rolling the ball across the face of goal where Bojan tapped home from point-blank range.
